The Fleece Hotel, Richmond had been bought by the Property Developers Within Reach Developers, whom Facades has an excellent working relationship being involved in their previous projects, we were pleased to be instructed for their latest project.

Facades attended site to undertake sympathetic cleaning trail using an initial clean using the Doff Superheated steam clean to remove all the loose surface contamination followed by a secondary clean removing carbon contamination using the Torc Vortex medium clean. Facades are approved to the Rosette accreditation provided by Stonehealth Ltd. for these cleaning systems which are recognised throughout the restoration and conservation industry.

The cleaning of the masonry was completed over a period of three weeks with special attention to the protection of the public. The building could now be surveyed for the extent of damage to the feature terracotta the damage was restored by our team of highly experiences restorers to match the original profile, colour and texture using colour match blend of Mason Mortars St. One restoration mortar. To ensure the building was water tight all open mortar joints were repointed using pre-blended Mason Mortar HNL lime mortar to match the existing mortar.

The works were competed to the client’s expectation giving the building a visual aesthetic uplift, fitting for image of the new hotel, restaurant and bar.
